THE ANATOMY OF A GREAT NATIVITY SCENE

THE ANATOMY OF A GREAT NATIVITY SCENE

We are in the third BER Month of the year that is November. People all over the globe will once again celebrate Christmas in a less than a month.

We notice different versions of how the Nativity Scene is depicted with Joseph and Mary together with the Three Kings celebrate the birth of the Infant Jesus in a simple manger surrounded by animals.

I hope you like the version of my Nativity Scene as depicted from a photo that i took. I was attracted to this Nativity set made of organic materials from a day market located in a shopping complex along Mombasa road, Nairobi, Kenya.

The Nativity reminds us of the star that led the three wise men or three kings coming from the east with their gifts to where the infant Jesus was born, the manger.

The obedience by Joseph/Mary as parents to the infant conceived by the holy spirit, the presence of animals in the manger helping humankind up to this present day and the birth of the infant Jesus as the King of Kings.

Unlike with some countries where i had lived, they do celebrate the season of Christmas quietly, simple with less festivals. Other countries would celebrate with lots of Christmas festivals, decors, dazzling lights, lighted star lanterns, shopping at the malls, night bazaars and many more.

Below is a photo i took while I was walking along Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City, The Philippines. A well lighted commercial establishment during the season.

Mega malls are always crowded and popular in countries such as the Philippines where locals love to spend their weekends in such places that offer all the food festivals, restaurants, coffee shops, department stores and Christmas sales.

Christmas is also a time of the year when traditional family reunions are observed especially amongst close knit families.

The traditional early dawn mass is started among the catholic communities usually starts in the middle of December until before the eve of Christmas, followed by the traditional rice cakes and hot chocolate for breakfast.

A tradition practiced in the Philippines (misa de gallo), while other catholic countries have their own similar yearly tradition.

A time when people would celebrate and be thankful for the blessings they had received during the year, also hoping for a better and another blessed coming new year.

Homes such as this photo i took in a neighborhood, in a city in the Philippines with full Christmas lights. Also a traditional practice where homeowners decorate their homes during the season.

Some people would prefer to celebrate Christmas with a deeper meaning and with less festivals, such as for those who had parted with their love ones who had crossed over during the year.

Within the confines of their homes, some would prefer to celebrate in front of their fireplaces in a cold winter night or some would prefer celebrating in a more crowded and festive places such as the beach.

It is also a time of thinking and remembering about the good times we share with all that are dear to us.

After eight good and memorable years with the love of my life who had crossed over this year, celebrating Christmas this year without my loyal companion can be sentimental.

It is my belief that i am not really alone this Christmas because his spirit lives on and is always with me. (Jimboh)

While relatives had given me their invitations to join them on Christmas eve, a planned trip to the mountains or to places in my bucket list is in progress.

Regardless of the stations in life, people from all over will somehow celebrate the season of Christmas in their own way, grand or simple.

For the Christian communities, it is worthy to be reminded that the Infant Jesus was born into this world in a humble manger surrounded by Joseph and Mary, The Three Kings and The Animals who rules over all kings.

Merry Christmas To All , Best Wishes For the Coming New Year.
